Board Directors
Mark Engel, founder of Excel, Chairman of the board, BA Law. He established a pharmaceutical trade company (NPO) in China in 1991. He introduced clinical trial focused CRO businesses to China in the mid-90s. In the past decade, he has contributed himself in the internationalization of Chinese new drug clinical research. Mr. Engel has a good reputation in the field of clinical drug research, both in China and the U.S.

Dr. Gao Zhan, co-founder of Excel, Ph.D. from the Organic Chemistry Branch of Marx Planck Institution. He was the Director of the Bayer Company's German laboratory, the first General Manager of Bayer China and the Director and a partner of Shanghai Pioneer Pharma. Currently, he works as the CEO of Haoyisheng and is a partner of Tiger Medical Products. Dr.Gao has a thorough understanding of and broad connections in China's medical industry.

Chief Executive Officer
William Xiong, CEO of Excel, Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, MBA from Cambridge University. He had many years of experience in Aventis,in both its French headquarters as well as its China branch. Later on he worked at a major pharmaceutical company as the Sales & Marketing Director for North Asia. Mr.Xiong has rich administrative and marketing experience and broad connections in the field of medicine .

Vice President
Ivan Zhai, MD, MBA, Vice President of Excel. Ivan graduated from the Fourth Military Medical University in clinical medicine and MBA from Beijing University and Fordham University, USA. Before joining Excel, Ivan has over 13 year industry experience including working at Sanofi-Aventis and Pfizer for over 5 years; Quintiles and Covance for over 7 years with senior positions such as Acting Head of Global Clinical Data Service at Pfizer R&D Center; Director, Clinical Operations and Chief Representative of Covance China. Prior to that, he served as attending doctor and medical advisor at Chinese Medical Association for 3 years and a Physician in a military hospital in Beijing for 7 years.

Department Heads
Dr. Peter Liu, Medical Director. A graduate of Beijing Medical University majoring in clinical medicine, Peter Liu has almost 8 years of experience with Eli Lilly as Senior Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Research Consultant and Clinical Research Manager. He has been involved in conducting clinical trials and project management in phase I trials and in the therapeutic areas of infectious diseases, erectile dysfunction, oncology and CNS. Prior to that, he served as an Emergency Physician in Peking University People's Hospital in Beijing.

Mr. Liu Zhonghai, Director of Regulatory Affairs Department. Master degree in Oncology Pharmacology in Institute of Materia Medica of Chinese Academy of Medical Science & Peking Union Medical College; Before joining Excel PharmaStudies Inc., Mr. Liu had been working for years as oncology manager in Regulatory Affairs Division (RAD) of Shanghai Roche Pharmaceutical Limited (SRPL), leading Oncology Product Team .As a director of Regulatory Affairs, he owns sufficient experience, professional skill and excellent leadership.

Dr. Xue Fu Bo, Head of Biometrics (Data Management and Statistics). Dr. Xue was awarded his Ph.D. degree of biostatistics by the Fourth Military Medical University. Before joining Excel PharmaStudies Inc., Dr. Xue had been working on biostatistics and SAS programming for 8 years in the Fourth Military Medical University.
